Keeping track of job applications

With all the different locations of advertisements for jobs in Dubai available to you - the internet, recruitment companies, newspapers and magazines - it’s difficult at times to keep track of what jobs you have applied for, and who you have spoken to about them.
You may get a phone call from a recruitment company discussing a particular IT job that you applied for weeks ago and haven’t a clue what they are talking about.
To solve this problem, buy yourself a small telephone directory type notebook. They are the ones with the alphabetized column down the side for entering in the last name of a friend or work colleague. Not many people use them now, because cellphones have taken over the role of storing contact details, so they may be tough to find.
But once you have one start entering in the names of recruitment companies and the jobs you’ve applied for. So, that when Bob from XYZ recruitment calls, you can flick to their listing and scan over the details of the job in an instant.
