It’s not what you know - It’s who you know.

Now that you’ve applied online and sent your CV into all the recruitment companies from our list of top recruiters, it’s time to get off your backside and start networking.
But, where do you start?
Think of all your friends and their friends/coworkers etc. There is always someone who knows someone who worked in Dubai or better yet, they are still working in Dubai.
Seek out their phone number or email address and politely ask them if they know of any recruitment consultants they dealt with when they landed their job, or find out if there are any vacancies at their current employment.
Someone always knows someone who has a lead and you only need that foot in the door to make yourself known to potential employers.
If you can’t possibly find a single soul to talk to then have a look at the networking and business groups available in Dubai. These give you the opportunity to make contacts and mix and mingle with like-minded people.
Check out:
You’re bound to find someone at one of these groups who has the contacts and know how in helping you find jobs in Dubai that match your skill set.
Once you’ve got enough contacts to fill a phone book make a list and give them a friendly call every now and then (every day is possibly a bit much - you don’t want to harass them!).
People are pretty good at helping a job seeker. They were most probably in the same boat not so long ago, so they know how difficult and frustrating it can be to land that dream job.
