Rather than wait around for recruitment companies to get back to you, start scanning through companies online that have career sections on their websites.
The majority of Dubai based businesses (or even international companies with Dubai offices) will have a Vacancies, “Work for us”, or Careers link on their home page. The larger ones will have an HR department who will handle new job positions and CVs that come in.
In order to keep track of the websites you are searching, have a look at the UAE Business Directory which will provide you with listings in a particular sector i.e. real estate, IT, construction.
Scroll through each section and have a look at the websites that come up. That way you know you’ve examined all career and job vacancies in that industry.
A search on “property” brings up 13 businesses in Dubai with their associated web addresses, mobile numbers and street addresses. Click on Emaar Properties and you’ll see they have a Careers link on the left hand side. From there you can submit your CV to the various Emaar sectors.
Another place to look, is in the Gulf News newspaper, at the advertisements. The majority will be for banks and property developers. Do a search on google for their websites and see if they have a careers section or better yet a contact number for the HR department.
Also flip through an issue of the Timeout magazine and have a look at all their listings related to sport, leisure, restaurants, bars, and events, and give them a call. They may just be waiting for a highly intelligent, enthusiastic person like yourself.
Tip: Before submitting your CV to the career section on the company website make sure your CV contains the keywords that are mentioned in the advertisement for that particular job. The company HR people will no doubt use a filtering system based on those key words to separate the “cream from the crop” so to speak. So make sure your CV at least has the job title mentioned in there somewhere.
Finding sources for jobs in Dubai has never been so easy - you just have to follow up on them.
